Prince William let slip an insight into his eldest son, Prince George, that has warmed the heart of many Princess Diana fans.
Making a rare statement about his children, William revealed to a room full of teenagers , at his home in Kensington Palace, has a passion for dancing that reminds him of his late mum, Princess Diana.
'George is doing dancing as well, he loves it,' Prince William told a street dance champion who was a finalist in the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards.
'My mother used to dance, she loved dancing. And if it's something you love, you do what you love.Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Keep at it.'
Prince William and Prince Harry have spoken about the effect their mother's death had on them as children but they rarely make off-the-cuff comments or give insights into her life.
Speaking in a documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy last year, William said he constantly talks to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and the rest of his family about his late mother 'Granny Diana'.
“We’ve got more photos up round the house now of her and we talk about her a bit and stuff. It’s hard, because obviously Catherine didn’t know her, so she cannot really provide that, that level of detail,” William said.
“So, I do regularly when putting George or Charlotte to bed, talk about her and just try and remind them that there are two grandmothers — there were two grandmothers — in their lives.”
William also joked that Diana would have been a “absolute nightmare” and caused havoc as a grandmother.
“She’d come and go and she’d come in probably at bath time, cause an amazing amount of scene, bubbles everywhere, bathwater all over the place, and then leave,” he said.
We wonder if Prince George is as good as dancing as this old video of his dad!
