Breaking: Woolworths impose restricted shopping limits on thousands of items amid coronavirus panic buying

Woolworths supermarket has announced new tough shopping restrictions amid coronavirus panic buying.

The new tough policy is in place from today, March 18.

In a statement on their website Woolworths says: “From today, there is now a per customer, per shop limit of 2 items from any single category on most packaged products across Woolworths Supermarkets and Metro stores and online.”

 

What this means for you:

You will only be able to buy 2 products from a single category or section, regardless of the brand or variety.

For example, coffee, you can buy only 2 from the whole category. 

 

New tougher restrictions are also in place and are limited to 1 pack per customer:

*Toilet paper

*Baby wipes

*Antibacterial wipes

*Paper towel

*Serviettes

*Rice (2kg and over)

 

There are also items which have NO limits currently in place.

* Fresh fruit and vegetables

*Meat (excluding mince)

*Deli

*Bakery

*Seafood

*Fresh Milk

*Canned Fish

*Drinks

*Baby Food

*Yoghurt

*Confectionary - excluding Easter

*Wet Dog Food

*Wet Cat Food

*General Merchandice (e.g. batteries, storage)
