Parents are urged to check their childrens' teethers after an urgent product recall has been issued.

Big Babies Co handmade wooden giraffe with silicone beads and bulldog shaped teethers have been recalled as they pose a hazard.

The teethers may get lodged in an infant's throat and pose a choking or suffocation hazard.

The teethers have been available for sale nationally from 31 March 2019 - 23 October 2019 via online Etsy trader Big Babies Co.

Consumers should immediately cease using the teethers. Big Baby Co will contact affected consumers directly to organise a return and refund.

Consumers can contact Big Babies Co at https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/BigBabiesCo
