Meghan's fairytale nursery - details revealed!

All the cute and dainty details

As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prepare to move to Frogmore House, Meghan is busy planning the baby’s nursery.

The former actress’ home in Toronto featured a blend of African homewares with accents of Danish Hygge.

In the nursery she’s likely to bring in similar elements, such as Moroccan rugs, natural textiles and furnishings to give the room a stylish yet understated finish. White and cream will dominate the colour palette and she will likely add florals and animals to give the room a whimsical touch.

For the cot and rocking chair, Meghan is likely to shop at Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite store, Dragons of Walton Street.

During a trip to Ireland, Meghan and Harry visited Shnuggle HQ. “At some point, we’ll need everything here,” the duchess told her husband.

And with the new little royal expected to spend the first few months in the room with his or her parents, the Moses basket is just what Meghan is looking for. It’s designed to keep baby close to you but safe in their own cosy sleeping space.

She may also choose to shop at Blue Almonds, an upscale furniture store which is also where sister-in-law Kate bought her white wicker baby basket.

The decorations will likely be gender neutral. Kate and Will went the Beatrix Potter route with their nursery, but perhaps Meghan and Harry may choose a more exotic animal from their favourite country, Africa.

Harry has been involved in elephant conservation so may choose to opt for this gracious animal to feature in their nursery.

Perhaps an elephant inspired print or wall decor, or maybe a wooden sculpture or lamp could feature.

Like in Meghan’s Toronto home, luxury sheepskin is sure to be featured in the nursery in the form of rugs or perhaps a cute fur rocker?

Whatever the couple chooses, the duchess is adoring the process. “Meghan is loving renovating Frogmore and it’s no surprise to anyone that she’s started with the nursery first!” a palace source says.

“She is calling in lots of designers and interior specialists, but she definitely wants a neutral, natural theme with lots of whites and soft greys. She would love a wallpaper feature wall, and is currently going through samples – it’s like her full-time job.

“As such, she’s really cleared her diary and is only just doing a few must-attend events. She’s trying to avoid the press and any spotlight as much as possible, she really wants to just lie low and concentrate on her baby.

“I’m very excited,” Harry says of becoming a dad.

“Harry is totally supportive of this and wants her to step away from her duties as she heads further into her pregnancy. He’s very protective of her, especially after all the scandal about her fall-out with Kate and some staff, and just wants her to put her feet up and relax as much as possible.

“He doesn’t want all this stress affecting her or the baby – and loves that she’s throwing herself into planning the nursery.”
