As she took part in a walkabout and greeted members of the crowd, Kate spoke about how coming to Leicester reminded her of being a student and how she’d “like to be” a student again.
The Duchess then went on to talk about her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, telling supporters they were “doing well”.
“They’re excited for Christmas time,” the mum-of-three revealed.
"They’ve started all their Christmas songs and Christmas trees are going up and things,” Kate added.
“It’s very sweet – and Louis’ getting big. I can’t believe he’s seven months now. He’s getting a big boy.”
The Duchess was then happy to discuss the forthcoming birth of another royal baby – the child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
When asked if she was excited, Kate replied that she was “absolutely”.
“It’s such a special time to have little kiddies,” she said.
“And a cousin for George and Charlotte as well – and Louis,” she added.
“It will be really special.”
