Since COVID-19 hit our shores, Aussie supermarkets have struggled to meet the demands of consumers.

Perspex screens and social distancing policies have become the norm at both Coles and Woolworths.

Shoppers are advised to wash their hands and use antibacterial gel before entering stores and to use their trolleys as a guide for social distancing.

Both Woolworths and Coles changed their packing policies, requesting that shoppers pack their own bags when going through the checkout.

Due to customer demand, Woolworths has backflipped on its decision not to pack shopping for their customers.

In an email from Woolies CEO Brad Banducci, said: “Thank you for your feedback on packing your own bags in store. As a result, we’ve changed our guidelines so our team can pack your bags for you when you buy new reusable bags with your shop.”

What that means for you is if you purchase Woolworths every time you shop, the team at Woolworths will pack your bag.

In other good news, less contact is needed when shopping if you are an Amex or MasterCard shopper. Both have lifted their transition that requires a PIN to $200. Woolworths goes on to say that with Visa and their card issuers are working to do likewise.
