Senior Constable arrested for possessing child abuse material
Arrest after his home was searched.
A 38-year-old NSW senior police constable has been arrested in Horsley, Wollongong.
Detectives searched the home of the police officer following an investigation by the Professional Standards Command.
They seized a number of electronic and storage devices which will undergo forensic examination.
The senior police constable was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra police station and charged with one count of access and possess child abuse material.
He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Wollongong local court on June 16.
