A mother of five from Perth is in a race against time to raise funds for life-saving surgery.
Rachel Hayden was diagnosed with a rare pineal tumour in 2016 and the only surgeon willing to operate is Dr Charlie Teo from Sydney, the Daily Mail reports.
The 39-year-old will not know if the tumour is cancerous until she has surgery, and she desperately needs to raise $100,000 for living expenses and medical bills.
Mrs Hayden’s real estate agent took to the airwaves on a local radio station in a plea to get the house sold and the much-needed funds to her client.
Her husband Andrew has also taken to social media in a last-ditch attempt to raise funds, setting up a GoFundMe page to encourage people to donate to their cause.
The mum has suffered from blackouts, seizures, blurred vision, nerve spasms, slurred speech and severe body pain.
She had a consultation with renowned brain surgeon Dr Charlie Teo who has since agreed to operate on Mrs Hayden - but has quoted the couple anywhere from $60,000 up to $150,000.
As well as putting their house on the market, the couple have sold many of their possessions and plan to live in a bus.
The family hope to travel around Australia in the bus once Mrs Hayden has her surgery.
