McGrocery list grows: Macca’s finds new ways to make money during COVID crisis

McDonald’s has expanded the essential groceries available to customers during the coronavirus crisis.

The fast-food chain announced last month it would begin selling basic groceries, such as bread and milk, during the pandemic.

And now, its added eggs to that list.

“Over the coming week, we’ll be adding another basic essential to our menu, making cartons of eggs available to our customers,” a McDonald’s spokesperson said.

“Anyone who comes to a Macca’s for our contactless drive-thru or takeaway service will now be able to pick-up milk, English muffins, bread rolls and eggs.

“We’re also now able to provide more milk options to customers with the addition of almond, soy and lactose-free milk cartons to the menu.

“We’re pleased to be able to continue to expand this offering to help the community safely access essential items like milk, bread and eggs, as well as their usual Macca’s favourites.”

The newest items will be rolling out at stores nationally over the next week.

In NSW and Canberra, eggs will be available from Sunday, while in South Australia, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory, they’ll be in store from April 15.

In Western Australia, the eggs will be sold from April 18.

The groceries are available through drive-thrus and takeaway services.
