Boy, 8, forced to pee in class BIN after teacher says he can’t go to the bathroom
Just awful
The mother of an eight-year-old schoolboy is furious after her son was forced to urinate in a classroom trash can when his teacher refused to let him leave to go to the bathroom, CBS reports.
Sonia Mongol claims the teacher told her boy the option of urinating in a trash can and “exposing himself in front of all the other students.”
“He went to the nurse’s office, he received no help,” the boy’s mother said, adding that he was given black trash bags to cover his clothes.
Protesting in front of her son’s school, Manhattan Place Elementary School in Los Angeles, Sonia said that her child’s life had become a nightmare of bullying and humiliation.
Officials with the Los Angeles Unified School District put out the following statement in response: “Los Angeles Unified takes all matters concerning the safety and well-being of our students very seriously. Upon learning about this allegation, law enforcement was notified immediately and the District is fully cooperating in the investigation.”
However, Mongol says that the school principal has failed to respond to the allegations and that she intends to take the matter to the school board for review.
“Why would you make a child expose himself in front of the classroom and then put a garbage bag over him when he came to you for help? Why would you treat a child that way?” she asked. “He’s a kid.”
