But one woman has offered to take the stress out of potty training by taking it out of parents' hands.
Mother-of-three Amanda Jenner can wean children out of nappies - but it will cost!
The UK-based potty trainer has set up the Potty Training Academy and charges parents the equivalent of $3,500 in pounds to train their toddlers.
Such is demand she has almost a year-long waiting list.
Says Amanda: 'I go to the house for three days and live with the family, but if it takes more days then I will stay an extra couple of days.
'It always works,' she says.
