A Queensland woman got a huge shock when she woke up in the morning to find a large snake licking the side of her face.

Sally Stent told Sunrise that she felt something brushing against her forehead but in her slumber just kept pushing it away.

When she finally opened her eyes to see what was going on, she was confronted with the sight of a gigantic python, which had wrapped itself around her bedside table and was hovering over her.

“I opened my eyes and the snake was a couple of centimetres from my face looking at me,” Sally said.

"It wasn't scary, it was shocking. I was like, that's not meant to be there!" See the video below...

According to 7News, experts think that the snake had probably just eaten, came in the bathroom window and sought out the warmest thing in the house, which unfortunately for Sally, was her face.

“It kind of seemed logical, because it was a really cold morning,” Sally Stent. “It took a while to go ok it really is there. Then the snake catcher came and I just thought that’s dealt with now.”

Sally even had a cup of tea before asking her dad to come and help her remove it.

“Growing up in the bush you know what’s dangerous or not, and I knew it wasn’t’,” she said.

Wow, not sure if we would be that relaxed about it.
