Taylor Winterstein defends $200 ‘anti-vax’ workshops: “I'm not a glamorous WAG that has all this money to splash around.”
She also claims that not being able to afford it is a "money block"
The footballer’s wife at the centre of an ‘anti-vax’ media storm has defended herself after she was slammed over both her position on vaccines and for charging $200 for her workshops.
She took to Instagram to inform her followers that not being able to afford her speaking tour was a “money block” and a “limiting belief”.
“If $200 is a stretch for you, I invite you to reflect on how you could be more resourceful with your money over the next few weeks,” she added.
The mum of two also shared a story on Instagram saying that just because her husband Frank Winterstein plays football does not mean she is wealthy, or that she has an opulent lifestyle.
“I’m not just a WAG, I’m a human being,” she told her followers. “I’m not a glamorous WAG that has all this money to splash around.
In her stories she was joined by her twin sister Stevie who added: “She has experience, she has all these people coming to her first-hand. She’s not just talking out of her a*se, there is truth to everything she says.”
The mum, who describes herself as an “ex-vaxxer” also shared that her husband had been released from the Manly Sea Eagles to work for another club, however she said this was nothing to do with the “media circus” the family found themselves in this week.
She also lashed back at NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard for saying that anyone encouraging parents not to vaccinate was “completely irresponsible”, “dopey” and “loopy”.
“What does that say about our politicians that they call me names like dopey and loopy,” she said. “It’s insane. I speak more intelligently than our current health minister. What does that say about the politicians in our government right now?”
Another celeb who has come under fire for speaking out against vaccines is Pete Evans, who earlier this week promoted a controversial anti-vaccination podcast to his 1.5 million Facebook followers.
The Australian Medical Association president, Dr Tony Bartone, said celebrity chefs should stick to cooking, not spreading unproven medical advice.
“When it comes to cooking, Pete Evans might be an expert, but his misinformation about vaccination is a recipe for disaster,” he said in a statement.
“He should leave the medical advice to the experts and keep quiet about matters he has no skills, experience or expertise in.
“Vaccination has saved millions of lives worldwide,” he said.
