Sophie Monk's shocking announcement from her hospital bed

Sophie Monk has made a shock announcement about her health from her hospital bed.

The former Bachelorette star, who failed to find love on the show with Stu Laundy, is thought to have undergone a procedure to have some eggs removed so she can freeze them and later undergo IVF.

But during the procedure, doctors found the former Bardot singer Sophie, is suffering from endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a painful condition that occurs when the tissue lining of the uterus, called the endometrium, grows outside of the uterus. It can cause some women to have difficulties falling pregnant. Emma Watkins, the Yellow Wiggle, revealed that she suffered from the condition earlier this year too.

The blonde singer shared a confronting video to her Instagram Stories where she's unconscious in hospital after undergoing surgery. She admitted that doctors had found some endometriosis.

Audio from the video includes the doctor telling Sophie, ‘We did find some endometriosis.’

Sophie captioned the footage, ‘So many women live not knowing they have endometriosis. If you have annoying cycles, you should ask your doctor.’

Sophie has not spoken on the record about the condition before, and there has been no further comment about her condition.

Last month Sophie revealed to Kyle and Jackie O on their KIIS FM Sydney radio show that she was in love with a mystery man who was Aussie but lived in LA.

“Have you guys told each other you love one another?” asked Jackie.

“Yeah, we did that pretty early,” replied Sophie.

 “Have you talked about babies?” added Jackie.

“Yeah, everything,” she said. “I don’t know if he’s super keen but we’ll figure it out!”

The ex-singer has made no secret of the fact that she has always wanted children and at 38, she was keen to freeze her eggs so that if she didn't meet a man she could try and have a family as a single mum, in her 40s. 

And it looks like now she knows she has been given the form diagnosis of endometriosis the decision to freeze her eggs was a good one - now all we have to do is work out who the potential father might be!
