Schools closed due to heatwave and bushfire risk

The bureau of meteorology (BOM) has issued a fire weather warning due to the increased extreme heatwave predicted.
"Warm, dry and windy conditions will bring elevated fire dangers to the southeastern parts of New South Wales, ACT"
Victoria has also been issued with with a weather warning, severe fire danger forecast in the following areas:
- Mallee
- Wimmera
- Northern Country
- North Central
- South West
- Central
Western Australia has a Severe Fire Danger is forecast for the following fire weather district:
- West Pilbara Coast
Tasmania is also affected Severe Fire Danger is forecast for the following forecast districts:
- East Coast
- Midlands
- Upper Derwent
- South East and Central Plateau
The following NSW public schools will be temporarily non-operational on Friday 31 January:
- Bermagui Public School
- Bodalla Public School
- Bredbo Public School
- Candelo Public School
- Central Tilba Public School
- Jerangle Public School
- Michelago Public School
- Moruya High School
- Moruya Public School
- Narooma High School
- Narooma Public School
- Tanja Public School
- Towamba Public School
- Wolumla Public School
- Wyndham Public School
The heatwave conditions bring a high fire alert, at this stage there has not been a catastrophic warning issued.
November saw hundreds of school closures due to catastrophic fire conditions.
"Catastrophic is off the conventional scale. We are talking about indices that go well beyond the old scale of 100.", NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons, said at the time
