Photos of a mother breastfeeding her daughter during labour prove how amazing mum's are at multitasking.
The viral photos, taken by photographer Maegan Dougherty, recorded the woman giving birth to her second child.
Sharing a picture of the woman breastfeeding in between contractions on Instagram, Dougherty said: "Big sister was so happy to see her mum and to nurse."
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Dougherty explained the woman thought feeding might move the birth along.
"The mum knew her daughter would want to nurse, and she also knew that that may help the labour process," said Dougherty.
"Her daughter asked to nurse as soon as she got there, and she said yes."
Two hours after the feed, the woman gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
"Mums are amazing, our bodies can grow a baby and nurse another baby at the same time," Dougherty said.
The reaction to the photos on social media was positive.
“This is perfect!!” one user wrote in the comments.
Another added: “Such a beautiful moment.”
