Internet attacks mum of comments about her 'least-liked' child!

A blogger mum on Instagram is facing a massive backlash after she announced on social media her six-year-old son was her 'least-liked' child.

Mum-of-five and blogger Katie Bower shared a photo of Weston to wish him a happy birthday. 

But she then proceeded to talk about how Weston's photos don't get as many 'likes' or comments as photos of his four brothers and sisters, and she asked if his 'squinty eyes' might be the reason why. 

"Guys I am gonna be perfectly honest...Instagram never liked my Munchkin and it killed me inside," she wrote. "His photos never got as many likes."

According to Katie, snaps of Weston's older brother Will and three younger siblings LJ, Maxwell and Ella get more of a response from her followers.

"From a statistical point of view, he wasn’t as popular with everyone out there," she continued.

"Maybe part of that was the pictures just never hit the algorithm right. Part might be because he was "the baby" for a very short amount of time before LJ came along... and then Max and then Ella. And people like babies."

"My Munch should get ALL the love and squinty eyes are totally adorable".

Thousands of outraged people wrote to her to tell her how horrific her comments were and the damage they might do to Weston as he grew up. 

'What a disgrace as a mother,' said one follower whose comments have now been deleted. While another wrote, 'What mother judges their own child on the number of likes they get on social media. What message does that send to them?'

Even celebrity mother Chrissy Teigan weighed into the debate saying, 

'Oh. My. God. What in the hell?'

According to Buzzfeed News, Katie then responded to the backlash with a series of Instagram stories which have now expired saying, 'I had to learn that the likes do not reflect much to me,' she says. She added, 'Kids know there's likes on photos and it's very human nature to compare. So for me, my personal growth journey is teaching my kids it doesn't matter.'

She then added that she felt the drama was "getting out of hand" and deleted her original post about Weston's sixth birthday. 

Katie Bower has more than 57,000 followers of her Instagram feed which catalogues the life of her five children, her husband and herself.
