REVEALED: The big baby news Meghan had to hide

“I wanted to tell you...”

November 22 2018

The Duchess of Sussex shared a sweet moment as she reunited with the survivors of the Grenfell tragedy.

Meghan had first met the women a few months ago when they collaborated on a cookbook together entitled Together: Our Community Cookbook.

The Duchess of Sussex visited the Hubb Community Kitchen to join the preparations as the women cooked 300 meals for the local community, and heard about some of the new outreach projects at the kitchen started by the women. These include a scheme to deliver nutritious meals for women on maternity wards, and a group offering a safe space for women affected by domestic violence. The women also talked to The Duchess and @chefclaresmyth about their long-term vision for the Kitchen, and how they hope to use further proceeds from Together to reach even more people in their community. #CookTogether

On seeing the women, the Duchess abandoned formalities, hugging the women warmly and admitting she was desperate to tell them about her pregnancy the first time they’d met.

“I wanted to tell you last time!” she said. One of the women asked how her trip to Australia had been and she said “Yes it was great, it was all good.”

Today, The Duchess of Sussex introduced her friend and Michelin Starred Chef @chefclaresmyth to the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen to see how the proceeds from 'Together: Our Community Cookbook' are making a difference. Thanks to the funds raised by Together, the kitchen has been renovated with the women's input, to capture the joyful spirit of the Hubb Community Kitchen and provide a safe and professional space to bring the community together over food. The women are now able to use the kitchen seven days a week, and have been empowered to start their own new projects to help others in their community. #CookTogether

Meghan went to the Hubb Community Kitchen, close to where the tower block blaze took place in West London, to see the progress made since the Together cookbook went on sale in September.

She told the women “It starts from one idea and from this one idea starts so much. I'm so proud of you.”

The Duchess is in the second trimester of her pregnancy and is looking forward to welcoming her first child with Prince Harry in April, it is believed.
