Slain family farewelled in Perth: ‘The world is colder now’

Mara Lee Harvey, her daughters and mother Beverly are laid to rest

October 15 2018

Perth woman Mara Harvey was laid to rest on October 12 with her daughters Charlotte, three and twins Beatrix and Alice, two, along with their grandmother Beverley Ann Quinn.

The three little girls had white coffins covered with flowers and blankets, while their mum and grandmother had pink coffins, according to a report from The Australian.

Mara and her daughters were allegedly murdered by Anthony Robert Harvey, at their home last month. He then allegedly killed his 73-year-old mother-in-law when she came to visit the following morning.

Beverley was described as a woman who ‘helped anyone, but looked after her family first.’

Taryn Tottman, Mara’s sister, said Mara was a loving and adventurous soul ‘who worked hard and was fearless in the way she faced the world.’ She also added that their mum Beverley was ‘the strongest person Mara and I knew… the world is a lot colder now.’

During the service, photographs of the family were displayed and lollipops were handed out as The Wiggles song Three Little Monkeys played.

The family thanked detectives, who were in attendance, and the wider community for their love and support.

Mr Harvey has been charged with five counts of murder, and has not yet entered a plea.
