Forget about her long mane of blonde hair, perfectly straight teeth and killer body – to actress Madeleine West, her appearance is the least sexy thing about her.
The Playing for Keeps star isn’t interested in discussing fitness tips and tricks. Nope, the 38-year-old mother of six is too busy trying to change the world.
“Something people don’t know about me is that I want to change the world,” she tells WHO. “Even if it’s just one grain of sand at a time, one children’s story at a time, or one inspirational quote at a time, I want to change the world.”
In addition to being a busy working mum – who has released five books, including parenting tome Six Under Eight – West wants to leave a lasting legacy.
“[I want to motivate] one person who is inspired to live a better life,” she explains, “to look at themselves in the mirror and go, ‘Yeah I’m down with me, I’m not perfect. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.’That’s a revolution right there.”
But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have time for her children, Phoenix, 12, Hendrix, 10, Xascha, 8, Xanthe, 6, and 4-year-old twins Xalia and Margaux.
“I’m a very hands-on mum,” she says. “But I’ve reached a point where my kids are a lot more independent and that allows me a new degree of autonomy, and allows me to pursue my career much more full-throttle. It’s crazy and chaotic, and a nightmare, and the house looks like a pigsty more often than it doesn’t.”
