Kate Middleton has a new string to her bow - she has just been announced as the patron of the Royal Photographic Society.

The Duchess of Cambridge has succeeded the Queen in this role, one the monarch has held for the past 67 years.

She looked radiant and happy as she paid a visit to a photography workshop run by the Royal Photographic Society and Action for Children in a children's centre on Tuesday.

The 37-year-old is a keen photographer and often takes her children's official portraits herself.

Kate joined children taking part in a workshop run by the organisation, which supports disadvantaged kids from across the UK.

The workshop will help children express themselves and release their thoughts and feelings through the medium of photography.
