Bride cancels wedding after guests refuse to pay $1500 to attend
She left a scathing rant on social media
A furious bride has gone on a lengthy Facebook rant after her guests refused to fork over $1500 (AU$1570) to attend the ceremony.
Her jaw-dropping story went viral after it was shared on Reddit.
The bride - known only as Susan - called out her 'snake' friends and family for refusing to cough up the dosh for her dream wedding.
She then went on to explain how initially her husband-to-be's family and her maid-of-honour offered to pay to help out before they changed their mind.
"My maid of honour (who shall not be named) pledged $5,000 along with her planning services. We tearfully thanked and accepted," she said
"My ex's family offered to contribute $3,000. So our request for $1500 for all other guests was not f*cking out of the ordinary.
"Like, we made it CLEAR. If you couldn't contribute, you weren't invited to our exclusive wedding. It's a once in a lifetime party."
After the guests began pulling out, Susan's fiance suggested they get hitched in Vegas.
"My ex came into the room and offered to get a vegas wedding done. I laughed in his face, but he was dead serious. He wanted those cheap, raggedy, filthy, wh*re-like Vegas weddings. I mean WHAT the f*ck??," she fumed.
But things went from bad to worse as her maid-of-honour and bridal party pulled out of the wedding, resulting in her cancelling the event entirely.
"Anyway. I am exhausted. I am bone tired. My heart is not the same. Its stone cold. Fragmented. Empty. I need to get away from this awful society. How hard would it to have been to fucking donate, friends? Do I matter to you? Just f*cking give me money for my wedding," she said.
She ended her rant by saying she was going backpacking around South America and was planning on cutting herself off social media.
Good luck to you, Susan.
