A mum who was diagnosed with breast cancer during her pregnancy posed for a photoshoot to raise awareness of the disease.
Kimi Maxell was pregnant with her second child in 2013 when she discovered she had breast cancer and had to undergo a double mastectomy.
To celebrate her survival she posed for photographer Nikki Fisher Holmes with the words "I survived" written across her chest, with "so did I" written on her baby bump.
The photographer Nikki Fisher Holmes has shared the image (pictured above) on her Facebook page 'Memories Set on Stone' again to raise awareness for her most recent fundraising effort: $10 from every memory stone sale will go to the Breast Cancer Research Centre - WA.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Holmes said: "Kimi faced her battle head on. I never heard her whinge and she just showed so much strength, which showed through in the photos."
Kimi has now almost finished reconstructive surgery and is in remission.
